Since 2016, TotalEnergies EP Bolivie (TEPBO) has operated the Aquio and Ipati blocks in the eastern region of the country. The Incahuasi plant, located in Lagunillas, 250 kilometers from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, processes gas from five nearby wells. However, TEPBO’s activities go far beyond industrial production. The subsidiary also plays a socially and environmentally responsible role.

Sergio Martín Mengoni, General Manager of TEPBO, states that the company is committed to sustainability and social responsibility. In this regard, he points out that the 2023 Social Management Report reflects precisely these actions, highlighting the company’s commitment to the environment and neighboring communities.

"TotalEnergies' commitment is reflected in our five sustainability pillars: Energy Efficiency, Carbon Emissions Reduction, Environment, Well-being, and Communities," he emphasizes, placing special importance on efforts aimed at community development.

"We showcase our initiatives to support and empower local communities. Through collaborative projects and sustainable practices, we seek to create lasting positive impacts, fostering growth and resilience," he adds. "Our dedication to these pillars reflects our holistic approach to sustainability, ensuring a balanced and responsible contribution to society and the environment."

CARBON FOOTPRINT AND RENEWABLES

Along these lines, Mengoni explains that the company has implemented various initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint, improve waste management, and promote the use of renewable energy.

"We have integrated renewable energy sources into our operations. Additionally, we take pride in having zero hydrocarbon discharges into the soil and achieving 70% waste recovery. Furthermore, we continuously promote conscious habits among employees, such as turning off unused equipment," he highlights.

He adds that the company is constantly seeking solutions to save electricity and reduce environmental impact, demonstrating its commitment to energy efficiency.

"In this report, we focus on sustainability that extends to the community. We continue to support and promote local and productive initiatives, including beekeeping and textile production, as well as collaborating on access to water, healthcare, and local labor," Mengoni concludes.

“At TEPBO, we believe that every action counts and that we all have a role to play in building a more sustainable future.”

Finally, it states that "at TEPBO, we believe that every action counts and that we all have a role to play in building a more sustainable future. This report is a testament to our ongoing commitment to sustainability and social responsibility."

SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL COMPENSATION – ICS-5 COLLECTION LINE

According to the 2023 Management Report, compensation for the CS-5 Collection Line project is executed based on the internal distribution of resources defined by the Capitanía Alto Parapeti. It states that these Compensation Funds are regulated by Hydrocarbons Law 3058 and Supreme Decree 2195.

Additionally, the report indicates that TEPBO designated World Vision Bolivia to support the 12 communities and the Capitanía Zonal Alto Parapeti in the administration and use of the Compensation Fund.

The report explains that with a fund of Bs. 591,800.58, projects have been prioritized and executed in the areas of infrastructure, education, production, and health, adding that the equitable distribution of resources allowed each community to receive Bs. 37,271.47 to address their urgent needs.

The French company operates the Aquio and Ipati blocks of the Incahuasi field in Bolivia and holds a 50% stake in the Aquio-Ipati Operation Contracts, signed with YPFB, alongside Gazprom and Tecpetrol (20% each) and YPFB Chaco (10%).

Additionally, it participates as a non-operating partner in the San Antonio, San Alberto, and XX-Tarija Oeste (Itaú) blocks since the early 2000s, allowing it to be part of their production fields, as stated on its website.
